Video Projection Tool
I've become familiar. I've seen it work. I just can't seem to start the bloody program AND IT"S PISSING ME OFF!!!
VPT was developed by HC Gilje. Born in Kongsberg Norway in 1969. HC Gilje works with installations, live performance, set design and singlechannel video. Gilje has presented his work through different channels throughout the world: in concert-venues, theatres and cinemas, galleries, festivals, outdoors and through several international dvd releases, including 242.pilots live in Bruxelles on New York label Carpark and Cityscapes on Paris-label Lowave. He was a member of the video-impro trio 242.pilots, and was also the visual motor of dance company kreutzerkompani. Gilje initiated the project “Conversations with spaces” (while working as a research fellow at Kunstakademiet in Bergen 2006-9) where he explores how audiovisual technology can be used to transform, create, expand, amplify and interpret physical spaces.

My Dream
The Stage is Set, Lights... off. The silence is palpable. only an outline of a figure in the middle of the ballroom can be made out. Like a black mound of a person slumped over themselves just sitting there on the floor. Then without warning music begins to fill the large ballroom faintly at first, a small light upon that shadowy figure starts at his hat. Flowing over his body like water the light swirls and glides around his body lifting him to his feet. Fully ignited in the illuminesense the floor is infected around him. As he pauses with the music to examine his obviously new illuminated form. On a nearby wall a female sillouette forms. The music taking on a more seductive tone. The man watches as the lady begins to dress and try on various outfits. Each as unique as the one before, one made of fire, water, wind, and earth. After the fourth Dress the man just can't take it anymore and begins to dance to try and catch the ladies attention...
(This is in the direction of what I want to do)
What comes next... well I guess you'll have to be there for that one. I was struck last night with a concept that brought all my projects together in one giant dream of a project. It will take years to get to this but I know one day I'll see it. BUT all that is left to do is to do it. I have eveythng I need and the things I don't know is out there to be learned. Yesterday I was struck with the concept of Projection Mapping. I've seen it in the past before but not with the eyes I have today. I want to learn how to create some of the more amazing 3d animations I've seen. But I plan to start on a smaller scale and build into larger projects. My dream is to fund my dream with my dream. SO I'll be documenting my journey to this ballroom performance for you all.
First step is learning the Projection mapping 3d animation technique on a small stage. Once i've mastered this stage on a performance level than we'll try a room sized stage.
Here are some of my favorite projection mapping videos.
